Slowing Down

Wed Jun 4, 2008, 9:23 PM
As I have mentioned in my earlier journals, I'm slowing down on commitments and I had to cancel a couple of projects from Kevin Grevioux that were dropped on my lap for several years now. It's unfortunate and I felt really bad about it.

First of all, I love those projects and secondly it's a good high profile projects that came my way for a long time since my Star Wars involvement. And the fact that I failed Kevin, it really gave the biggest blow of all. He's been a loyal friend who waited for years for me to work on his projects one at a time and who have been supportive of my work and trying to line me up a project that could have been the quintescential (pardon my spelling) opportunity that one can only take a one shot in a life time: UNDERWORLD comic adaptation. No I didn't get it yet, but Kevin is lining me up for it if I want to be in the team. Unfortunately, I have to decline. I thought about it for a long time.

These past weeks have been a difficult time to make my decision. I have to think seriously about my health and my priority. It's not doing well. I have to go thru monitoring procedures. First time that it happen and I'm scared. So I have to slow down from this time forward. I'll still do some sketches when I can and continue with what I have started for the Comics For A Cause Fund Raising Campaign, when I can that is.

Take care and happy DA'ing folks.

I really hope your health will get better.

Have you ever considered a production system for your work? do you have roughs that I can maybe clean up? that way. you can still get your art out and get to hire people here in the Philippines at the same time.

:) Be well Darrio.
I hope you are better buddy.

I share the same sentiments on this one.

You should consider asking some of your friends to chip in on the project so that you're still climbing up while you maintain a peaceful, healthy recovery.

I'd volunteer Boy but I don't think he's ever declined any of your requests before. So that's fairly given. :-P I'm sure Boy's going to kill me for this.

Bro you are in my prayers. Hope you get better my friend.
It must have been a hard decision, but as you say, health is a priority.

Take care, Dario.
Thanks G. I can do something like that too. I have done that on one occassion. Hmm. That's a good idea.
