Marlow: The concept and vision

The concept and vision for Marlow as originally planned was to have an adventure comics in heavy black & white, and the result was shown in our first volume book called Soul of Darkness by Arcana Studio with the fabulous and action-packed art by Matthew Reynolds (aka batfish). With the 2nd volume underway, I'm taking over the full art and I'm following the original vision that Aaron T. Thomas and myself have conceptualized.

Here's a try-out ink that I did of page two using the heavy blacking to invoke movement and maybe depth of the action in the page.
